Terms & Conditions


This service is promoted by Discover Sligo and operated by Discovery Tours.
Users of this service agree to subscribe to Discovery Tours terms and conditions. These include:
  • Joining Discovery Tours holiday service whereby subscribers agree to receive on occasion information, by mail or email, on recreational, educational or cultural events happening in Sligo and elsewhere as organised by Discovery Tours.

  • This is a private service and admission to any part of it is by ticket only, paid in advance.

  • Tickets must be produced at the start of any event. Failure to produce a valid ticket will exclude participation.

  • Tickets for any event are non-transferable and non-refundable.

  • Full payment is required on booking.

  • Discovery Tours and its agents accept no liability for property lost or otherwise misplaced during any event organised by Discovery Tours.

  • Members of this event must abide by timetable itineraries. No liability will be accepted by Discovery Tours or its agents in the event that any member fails to abide by itineraries.

  • At all times passengers on vehicles are to remain seated whilst the vehicle is in motion. Passengers are to follow instructions given by the driver or, if relevant, the tour guide.

  • Alcohol and food is not allowed on any vehicle used by Discovery Tours.

  • The Operator and its agents reserve the right to refuse entry to vehicles used by Discovery Tours or its agents without liability for consequential loss if any client member is deemed incapable or unwilling to behave appropriately.

  • The Operator, Discovery Tours, reserves the right to apply special conditions to any itinerary which will allow for the better delivery of an event programme or the safety of tour members.

  • The Operator does not accept responsibility for injury, loss or damage to persons or effects on or near vehicles or on any activity performed as part of the programme, nor liability for activities undertaken by group members, nor liability for traffic delays, mechanical breakdowns, force majeur or consequential loss.




Academic Enrichment and Professional Development Workshops


  • Balance of all charges is due 1 April 2010.

  • After 1 February 2010 refunds* (less 30% deposit) can be made until 1 April 2010.

  • NO REFUNDS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CAN BE MADE AFTER 1 APRIL 2010.

  • Single room supplement will apply unless a roommate is designated or can be arranged.

We strongly recommend that workshop participants purchase travel cancellation insurance. While every effort will be made to offer the itineraries as outlined, some substitutions are inevitable.

Group Tours


Operator’s considerations
  • The Operator and its agents reserve the right to vary tours, routes or programmes in response to circumstances which The Operator deems necessary.

  • The Operator will endeavour, where any change is required, to include a comparable alternative.

  • The Operator reserves the right to apply special conditions to any itinerary which will allow for the better delivery of a tour programme or the safety of tour members.

  • The Operator and its agents reserve the right to refuse entry to its vehicles without liability for consequential loss if any client member is deemed incapable or unwilling to behave appropriately.

  • The Operator does not accept responsibility for injury, loss or damage to persons or effects on or near vehicles or on any activity performed as part of the tour programme, nor liability for activities undertaken by group members, nor liability for traffic delays, mechanical breakdowns, force majeur or consequential loss.

Client Group leaders
Group leaders are required to
  • Ensure, before signing this agreement that the tour programme is appropriate to the group members physical abilities and interests.

  • Inform The Operator prior when paying the balance of fees prior to the commencement of the tour programme of any medical or dietary conditions that may have bearing on passenger comfort or safety.

  • Ensure each tour member has signed group members agreement and release form to be given to The Operator when paying the balance of fees.

  • Exercise adequate management and control of the group members during the tour programme.

Payment & Refunds:
  • The cost of the tour programme is based on the stated number of participants.

  • The cost includes all accommodation, breakfasts, lunch on,dinner on and coach hire with driver/guide, entrance fees to visitor centres and tours, theatre performance, and airport transfers by coach.

  • A 50% non-refundable booking deposit is required at signing of the agreement.

  • Full payment is required no less than 10 weeks before arrival in Ireland.

  • No refund is provided for cancellations with less than 10 weeks notice.

  • 50% refund* is provided for cancellations more than 10 weeks in advance.

  • Refund payment can be made by SAME DAY electronic transfer or by cleared cheque or by credit card.
* All refunds: are subject to a 2.9% credit card fee and associated Bank fees, a Discovery Tours Administration fee and any, if applicable, non-refundable Tour charges.
